KV Gautam is a cartoonist, motivational speaker and an author based in New Delhi. He has done MBA in Marketing. K V Gautam has won several contests on painting and drawing. In 1994, he was awarded with the First Prize in the Poster Contest on the theme of population control, organized by the Population Education Fund of the State Government.
He was awarded with Certificate of Merit in the national contest of International Poster Contest – 1993 on the theme of Population and Our World. This contest is organized by National Council of Educational Research & Training (NCERT) and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). What inspired you to start writing?
I started my career as a cartoonist. I had gone through a lot in life. I had enough materials in my head to spin an engaging story. This motivated me to write Love in Crazy Times, my first romance novel.
Later I got recognition as a motivational speaker also. My motivational talks have touched hearts of many people. For their benefit I have written a motivational book, which is under process of getting published.
What did you like to read when you were a boy?
I loved to read heart-warming stories and motivational books.
What is the greatest challenge in writing a book?
You need to put efforts and be focussed to finish a book. It takes patience and focus for a long period of time.
How much research do you do before writing the book?
I don’t need to do much research as I have written fictional and motivations books. My first book was Love in Crazy Times. I have written another romance novel and a motivational book. Both of them are in the process of getting published.
What motivated you to write the book “Love in Crazy Times”?
I had gone through a lot in life. I had enough materials in my head to spin an engaging story. This motivated me to write a book.
How did you came up with the idea of writing romantic fiction genre book?
I had gone thought a lot of romantic experiences in life. In any case I am a hopeless romantic. This made me write a romantic book.

Orison Swett Marden, Dan Ariely and R K Narayan.
How much time do you dedicate for writing on a daily basis?

What words of wisdom would you like to give to aspiring writers?
One should live a proper life before starting to write books. The writing which is true to life touches hearts. If you are too young, do not write, just read and experience life to the fullest. The person who has gone through lots of emotions in life can be a better writer than he who has lived an uneventful life.
