What inspired you to start writing?
I am fascinated by a lot of people I have met in my journey of life so far. Their idiosyncrasies have left a memorable impact.
What did you like to read when you were a girl?
Sci-Fi, Romantic fiction, Suspense thrillers
What is the greatest challenge in writing a book?
To be able to bring your characters to life. The reader should be able to get into the skin of the character, it creates involvement.
How much research do you do before writing the book?
I observe. The characters in my mind automatically come to life. I am here to make a place for myself, to share with the world what I know best.
Can you tell us more about your latest book “Punjabi Thali”?
It is a story by my protagonist Shalini. She helms the narrative and introduces various characters as they feature in the storyline. It is her take on the gregarious relatives that leaves a reader smiling and jaw-dropped at times.
How did you come up with the idea of writing fiction genre book?
I have always read and liked fiction. Imagination is an art, it is creativity.

Khushwant Singh, Sankar, Bimal Kar, Chitra Bannerji Divakaruni, Nicholas Sparks, Manju Kapur, Robin Cook, Kamala Das, Sidney Sheldon, Anita Desai, Premchand, Bonophool to name a few.
How much time do you dedicate for writing on a daily basis?
I wait for the thought bubble to explode, and then there is no constraint of time.
What words of wisdom would you like to give to aspiring writers?
Be comfortable with what you are. People would believe in your story.
