What inspired you to start writing?
Reading good books since early childhood was an inspiration. Scripting for television was a catalyst later.
What did you like to read when you were a boy?
Enid Blyton, comic books, detective novels, Bengali literature and abridged versions of classics.
What is the greatest challenge in writing a book?
To crack the thought or the basic plot.
How much research do you do before writing the book?
I do my research as I’m working on the novel.
What motivated you to write the book “Love, Films, Rock & Roll”?
Interacting with youth and realizing that the eternal dilemma is still chasing a dream versus chasing money.

How did you come up with the idea of writing fiction genre book?
This story had been on my mind for a long time as a screenplay. I decided to put it on paper as a book first.
Who are your favourite authors?
Graham Greene, Somerset Maugham, Charles Bukowki (lately) and many Bengali authors. (can’t name them all)
How much time do you dedicate for writing on a daily basis?
I am not that disciplined now. I write when I want to or when I have the time.
What words of wisdom would you like to give to aspiring writers?
Look before you leap. It’s a tough life. Read a lot.
