What inspired You to start writing?

My inspiration for writing emanated from my love of reading books. For many years I have been regularly reading books on management, spirituality & fiction. I initially wanted to write a management book, but found research a challenging task so therefore wrote fiction.

There is an interesting incident which inspired me to take writing. Sometime back my brother gave me a few pages which he had written on Astrology for feedback. I could not give feedback as I am not an expert in Astrology but it really inspired me to write a fiction story.

What did you like to read when you were a boy?

Jeff Archer – The favorites include Kane & Able, First Among Equals

Khuswant Singh – The portrait of a lady, A train to Pakistan

Archie Comics

Stories from Panchtantra

Famous Five

What is the greatest challenge in writing a book?

The biggest challenge I think is keeping the reader hooked on for the entire 200 odd pages of the book. The storyline, characterization, lingo and pace should be blended appropriately to create a constant interest.

I often used to get a writer’s block when I used to be in no mood to write. The other challenge is to get productivity.

How much research do you do before writing the book?

It requires lots of efforts to write books which are as close to reality and yet interesting. My research comes from reading, speaking to lots of people on their personal experiences & internet. Approximately 40-50% of my total time is spent doing the above activities on research.

What motivated you to write the book “It’s Destiny, My Love”?

I have been fascinated by “Law of Attraction” which says “your intensity of desire defines your level of success”. The above theory is famous and covered by many authors in their books as a lesson of life.

My thoughts are different. Why does it happen that so many people fail even when they worked so hard and put everything at stake for the same? Why people do not achieve success even when they are so close to it?

The answer to the above is “Destiny or Niyati”. The theme of “It’s Destiny, My Love” is “if it’s destined, it will be achieved”. The protagonist “Aditya” is really confused what he really wants to do, but destiny has planned something else for him. The circumstances change and he is forced to respond to them , which ultimately leads to the goal.

How did you come up with the idea of writing romantic fiction genre book?

Love is such a strong force which may make or break you. “It’s Destiny, My Love” shows both the aspects of the romance. The story has a very interesting Love Triangle where the biggest highlight is that the two ladies (Vandana & Rashmi) who love the protagonist “Aditya” never meet each other.

The love triangle is inspired by Ghalib’s Sher:

“voh afsaana jise anjaam tak laana na ho mumkin, use ek khoobsurat mod dekar chordna accha”
