What inspired you to start writing?
Every person has a different way of expressing, I expressed best in writing. Ever since I was little I have been maintaining journals and writing in them. I wrote my first poem when I was in 5th standard and have been writing poems and short stories ever since
What did you like to read when you were a girl?
My first book was “Harry Potter” and it left a mark on me. I have ever since hooked on fantasy, fiction and love stories.
What is the greatest challenge in writing a book?
Time management. I have a full time job which requires 10-12 hours attention and due to this it is very hard for me to find time for my writing and my family
How much research do you do before writing the book?
Not much. Considering it is fiction it turned out very easy
What motivated you to write the book “Live-in with a Ghost”?
The thought of the book came to me from a basic fact of life – we all are so busy in our lives that we all wish our partners to spend more time with us. The idea of story clicked to me with a thought, ‘what if someone always stayed just with me’ and eventually this idea converted into this book
Can you tell us more about your latest book “Live-in with a Ghost”?
My book – ‘Live-in with a Ghost‘ is about Jia & Jai, 2 people who belong to completely different worlds, where she is a human and he is a ghost. They meet in most unlikely situation, an accident and since then there lives are entangled. The story revolves around their journey together from the first encounter till they fall in love…
How did you come up with the idea of writing romantic fiction genre book?
Love is the centre and essence of everything. I have been reading various genre and its love between characters that always had me hooked. Hence when I decided to write a book for myself I took love and romance as the base of it
Who are your favourite authors?
My all-time favourite is J.K. Rowling
How much time do you dedicate to writing on a daily basis?
I don’t have any dedicated time, it depends on how my day went and how much I can take out to write. Having said that, I do ensure I write every day (at least something) as writing de-stresses me
What words of wisdom would you like to give to aspiring writers?
Something that I read in the earlier days of my writing: “Rejections and acceptance are part of being an author. We need to learn to accept rejections and rejection acceptances”
