What inspired you to start writing?

They say write something which you would love to read. I have read a lot of books ranging from fiction to non fiction but there were very few books which could grab my attention. One day at 5 o`clock in the morning I was sitting in the garden with a couple of street dogs and staring blankly at a tree. I realised the tree was minimalistic in design, self sustainable and till date this design cannot be copied by mankind. I rushed back into my house to note this down and I wanted to go into detail of what god might be telling. I started my research from what Charles Darwin had wrote about trees and I then moved to Sigmund Freud, Albert Einstein, Da Vinci and Picasso. I saw that all of them were trying to become a child. I saw this pattern everywhere and I thought the world needs to know about this.

What did you like to read when you were a boy ?

I only read encyclopedias and books which were more visual since normal books could not grab my attention.

What is the greatest challenge in writing a book?

The greatest challenge in writing a book is patiently writing it one place. Its about compiling your ideas and structuring them in a way that your audience can understand.

How much research do you do before writing the book?

The Butterfly Effect. It means that everything, which happens, has a cause and effect. Therefore, I cannot give an exact reference of all the sources, but since everything is connected, so here it goes:

  • 2000+ Books
  • 400+ TV Series
  • 1000 + Cartoons
  • 100+ Religious Texts
  • 50+ Spiritual Gurus
  • 50+ Geniuses
  • 100+ Millionaire interviews
  • 3000+ Movies
  • 900+ TED Talks
  • 1000+ Articles
  • 3 Playstations
  • 2000 Games
  • 3 College Dropouts
  • 10 Art Galleries
  • 20 Museums
  • 1000+ Failures
  • 2 Businesses
  • 13+ years of school
  • 4.5 Relationships
  • 2 Parents
  • 300+ Experiments
  • 400+ Phone Calls
  • 1000+ Emails
  • 4000+ Google searches
  • 57 Countries
  • 100+ children
  • and LIFE

To be honest it takes a lifetime of research to complete this type of book. This is just a first version. I had already started working on the second version and have no idea when my research will stop.

What motivated you to write the book “5 Year Old Billionaire”?

Being a Three time college dropout, The managing partner of two companies  and consulting various corporates and non profits around the world. I have realised that the education system just creates mindless sheep instead of freethinkers or artists. I have read about  Sigmund Freud, Albert Einstein, Da Vinci, Steve Jobs, Picasso and many others. I saw that all of them were trying to become a child. I saw this pattern everywhere and I thought the world needs to know about this. We are destroying our time running after gurus and babas even though all the wisdom was already given in us when we were 5.

Can you tell us more about your latest book “5 Year Old Billionaire”?

They say in order to become a great artist you need to copy a great artist so that you can understand his mind and his creation on a deeper level. I chose to copy God as an artist. People like Leonardo Da Vinci, Sherlock Holmes, and Einstein copied God as an artist. After spending his entire life in pursuit of studying God as an Artist in his last days, Da Vinci realized that he has wasted his life by not creating enough art with uniformity of his knowledge. God has given us immense weapons to make this world a better place, and in finding them lays the answer to enhance our creative levels. It might take my entire life, just like Da Vinci’s, to study this topic. But I just wanted to spread this knowledge so that more people can save time in pursuit of this and create art, which makes this world a better place.

Since the day I have started to study God as an artist, I am able to see through most books, knowledge, and people.

It is fascinating that all the concepts of Kaizen, Zen, mindfulness, Kamiwaza and all the other forms of success were already there in a child. We just had to look closely.

How did you came up with the idea of writing non fiction/self help genre book?

What people do in their life, they do not do it in their work, even though they spend the maximum time working.

I have seen that life in a corporate culture becomes boring and many people tend to leave a company to work in companies like Google or Facebook or in ‘start-ups’. I recently saw Peter Pan, and I observed that business is like the pirate ships of grownups, not free like children.

I continuously meet companies who have old people on their boards, who end up destroying the company culture and future. My suggestion would be to have one 5-year-old in your board meetings. This is because in order to explain the problem to the child, you need to simplify it. If he understands it, then everyone in your boardroom will understand the problem. He will teach you how you can turn your work more into play. His answer to this will be something totally out of the box, or you will call it absurd, but you never know how it may solve your biggest problems. Sigmund Freud wrote of Leonardo Da Vinci, “The great Leonardo continued to play as a child throughout his adult life; thus baffling his contemporaries,” Even Einstein portrayed the same qualities in his lifetime

Who are your favourite authors?

Seth Godin, Gurucharan Das, Malcolm Gladwell and Mitch Albom.

How much time do you dedicate for writing on a daily basis?

My writing style is different. I cannot sit everyday to write 500 words. I carry a notepad with me everywhere and keep on noting down my ideas in  oneplace. Its called free writing. At the end of the week I write those ideas in a word document. Doing this exercise for atleast 2 to 3 months I end up gathering enough insights and ideas related to the topic. Then it takes me 3 Days to structure and organise those ideas and add the details.

What words of wisdom would you like to give to aspiring writers?

“If an ADHD person like me can write so can you.” I tell this to everyone and they fail to believe me and say they dont have time or the patience to write a book.
